Church Organist:
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Church Organist to bring inspiring musical leadership to our congregation. In this vital role, you will serve as the musical heartbeat of our worship services, creating an uplifting and reverent atmosphere through your mastery of the organ. Your talents will help enhance spiritual experiences, foster community connection, and support various church events and ceremonies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your musical expertise with a meaningful community service.
Duties
-Lead and accompany congregational singing during weekly worship services, special ceremonies, and events using the church's electronic organ.
-Support additional church functions such as weddings, funerals, and holiday celebrations.
Skills
-Proven proficiency in playing the electronic organ with a strong understanding of musical theory and liturgical traditions.
-Excellent sight-reading skills to quickly learn new compositions and adapt to different service formats.
-Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with clergy, choir members, and other church staff.
-Knowledge of theatrical elements can be a plus for integrating dramatic musical presentations into services or special events.
-Positive attitude with a passion for inspiring others through music and fostering a welcoming worship environment.
-Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules for special services such as Lenten and Advent, holidays, or community events.
